Day 20, Hat 20

Hello Everyone!! I hope that you have enjoyed following my project! This is hat 20. It is a pink cloche with a beautiful vintage inspired floral button. The button was given to me by a friend and I could see that it belonged with this hat. I have decided that I will do this project again next year, most likely in November instead of January/February. I will continue to make hats and purses, and clothing throughout the year so please continue to visit my blog on a regular basis for project updates. As promised I will also post a little about how I make the hats. As you may or may not know I also felt fabric from raw alpaca and sheep's wool. I do all of this by hand right from the raw fibers, with no knitting involved. You will see me making some purses in the upcoming weeks, as well as some more of the hats like the ones I have been making during the Hat challenge. This blog is for you as much as it is for me. If you can think of something you would like to see me try to make just drop a comment and I will respond.

Day 18 hat the rest of hat 17 and hat 18

Hat 18
Hat 17

Hello Everyone...
Thanks for your patience. The Camera is back up and running. I have a camera that runs on a special battery that has to be recharged on a special charger... it ran out of juice on Friday.... but all you would have seen would have been half a hat. .... The blue and gray hat is hat 17 and the purple hat is hat 18. Hat 18 needs to have its detailing added to it. As always when I have this done I post the picture again so you can see the alterations and how it completely changes the hat. The picture was taken tonight and the purple color just isn't cooperating with my camera. You will see the true colors when I re-post it. Both of these hats are hats that I have made from orders... See you tomorrow when I make hat 19!!!!

Day 15 hat 16

Hello Everyone!!! Todays hat felted a bit more than I was expecting.... I have been experimenting with stripes on hats. This one would fit a child. I really like the green color on this hat. It is still wet and stretched out over the mold so it will look a little different when it is dry and formed. I will post some picture of the hats from the days before probably on Sunday. Remember.... I will be taking Saturday off this week again. So you will see a hat for tomorrow but not one for Saturday. Tomorrows hat will be another order hat... I will try to post it earlier in the day. Next week at the end of my project I am going to post a blog about how I make the hats as this was requested by one of my friends. Thanks for following my project.

Day 14 Hat number 14 and 15 & New wool !!!

New Wool order
un-blinged wool hats

Hello Everyone...
Today I knitted 2 hats in 2 different shades of gray, one of them is a order I have just fulfilled. I have not added extras to either one as of yet because they are drying over the molds and are still a little damp. This week you will see me fulfilling orders because I have had my new yarn come in that I ordered last week. So if you ordered a hat from me, this is your week!!!
I am going to attach pictures of the two un-blinged hats and a picture of the new wool order I received.
Tomorrow will be a forest green hat!! Look for it then!

day 13, hat 13 a hat to fit a man

Hello Everyone... its Day 13... another hat to fit a man. This hat as you can see has stripes on it. It is a very warm and soft hat. I knitted it tonight while watching the PBS special Downton Abby. One of my friends pointed out to me the other day that I could very well call my project 20 movies in 20 days as well... ( which I thought was rather funny). Tomorrow is supposed to be a epic storm here in VT. This storm is in 30 states across the US and I am sure that we will be stuck indoors. Maybe I will knit a few hats tomorrow.... My wool arrived this afternoon in the mail. I will take a picture of it tomorrow to post on here!!!
